COMMUNITY SUPPORTED HERBALISM
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED HERBALISM (CSH)
At Wapato Island Farm, we seek to support our community with the healing power of plants and fungi. If you desire to be nourished through the seasonal support of local plants, we offer shares of handcrafted herbal products made with organically farm-grown and thoughtfully wildcrafted plants. Our CSH - Medicina Ritual - is a seasonal offering made with the intention of supporting the body, spirit and soul by honoring the cycles of the year through connection with the beings of the land. Our medicines are made in the practice of folk herbalism. For us, this means that our relationship with the plants is a reflection of our indigenous and ancestral ties and of our desire to restore the life-honoring relationships that all of our ancestors once had with Mother Earth. Our practice of folk herbalism combines indigenous wisdom, cultural tradition and reliance on the plants as the ultimate healers.
CSH shares can be purchased through our online store.
OUR PRODUCTS
All fungi + plants used in our products are organically grown on our farm. We smoke our salt in our outdoor wood-burning oven, craft our hydrosols in our farm’s still and brew our own vinegars from farm-grown fruits + berries. We craft all products with the intention of honoring the Earth’s cycles, paying attention to the seasons, moon phases + astrological cycles. All other ingredients used in our products (honey, beeswax, olive oil, etc.) are sourced locally + organically whenever possible. All products are grown + handcrafted with love by our herbalists, Jennifer and Rae.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
We are committed to caring for our community by sharing the abundance of our generous Earth. Sales of our herbal products help support folk herbalism education + herbal medicine donations in our local community.
CSH shares provide funding for our BIPOC/financial hardship scholarship fund that makes our skill-share workshops available to everyone. Thanks to your support, we offer BIPOC/financial hardship scholarships for all Wapato Island Farm workshops!
CSH proceeds support high-quality herbal medicine donations to the indigenous Canoe Journey community and herbalist collectives serving the houseless in Portland.
CSH shares support us — your local folk herbalists working on a women-owned farm. Thank you for your love and generosity that makes this work possible!
